(Sorry these are out of order). We drove to the spot where it is believed Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. Actually, we traveled to three different spots along the Jordan River in Jordan. There is also a spot in Israel that is claimed to be the place. Regardless, it was very powerful to stand on the banks and picture what the moment would have been like for John, the cousin of Jesus, who like all expectant Jews had been waiting for Messiah. Now, Jesus was coming to be baptized or in a sense coronated as Messiah...but a Messiah unlike what others thought.
From here Jesus would have been driven into the hills to be tempted for 40 days. Jim did some teaching...notice the stone that resembled a loaf of bread.
